A Modern Farmhouse Renovation

A turn-of-the-century farmhouse was reimagined to meet modern living while preserving the character of this home, owned by a dear friend. Josh and the owner focused on balancing the historical details with functionality. The kitchen was moved and fully redesigned to highlight the row of charming original renovated paned windows looking out over the property and foothills. Wood floors were custom matched to the original floors, attic additions made room upstairs for a new bathroom and laundry, a mother-in-law suite was completely overhauled for a primary bedroom and bathroom with a tile surround built-in soaking tub, closet and en suite laundry. The owner sourced an antique fireplace surround from an estate sale which we custom painted and installed around the new modern wood burning fireplace insert. This renovation was truly a partnership between owner and Laurel Street, one that was deeply rooted in honoring the craftsmanship of the era, intentionality for her space and materials that felt fresh and authentic.
